Clay & Lauren - Topsail Island Family Photoshoot

I met Lauren through a local creative group and was so excited to shoot her portraits. Her husband has served in the Marines for awhile and was deploying in a short time, and she wanted photos of her family before he had to leave.

Warning, gorgeous family up ahead (serious heart eyes all around).

Like the second I saw them and their perfectly coordinating outfits and their little baby dressed in a gray cardigan I knew it was going to be suuuchhh a gorgeous photoshoot. We were worried about rain, but it cleared up JUST in time for photos and actually made the mood just perfect.

Also, this was looong before Hurricane Florence destroyed Surf City and the surrounding Topsail beaches. (florence, smh. you ruined my favorite beach access).

I always love a goofy candid mixed in these pretty posed shoots.

Okay I really don't have better words to describe this family and their happy, cozy photoshoot so I’m just going to show you a whole bunch of family pictures. Seriously they exude joy and connection and I literally was smiling while I went through these photos.

I love to get a good mix of mama+baby and daddy+baby photos, as I think the individual connections between both mama & daddy are both so different and equally important.

I can’t handle this adorable, handsome baby boy! I love love love his little squishy cheese face.

I love the end of photoshoots. All the “safe” photos have been taken, and everyone’s usually just more comfortable and I can get all the “real” shots. The black and white snuggle pictures, the blurry action shots, the slightly more artistic photos, all the extra shots that just complete a session.

And that’s all for now y’all. Thanks so much for your service Clay, and to Lauren for your continued support for your servicemember. The Marine Corps life is NOT easy and you showed such strength and optimism before this deployment. This sweet baby boy is in the best of hands with you two as parents.
