Max & Lindsay - Engagement Photos Wrightsville Beach, NC

I met Lindsay when I was in high school. We met through a mutual friend named Mariah, who had met Lindsay when they grew up together in Wilmington when they were really young. They then ended up in Michigan, where I was able to get to know Lindsay.

We traveled together every year for nearly four years. We took many road trips across the country, covering both the east and the west coast. We spent hours in the car together, and she quickly became one of my closest friends.

On one of these trips we were sitting on Wrightsville Beach talking about our futures. I had just met Leo and had started dating him. She wasn’t seeing anyone. She mentioned how she wanted to get proposed to on the pier, and get married in Wilmington.

Four years later, how our lives have changed! I’m currently married and growing my family in Wilmington (who would have thought?!), and Lindsay’s story ended up just how she had planned. She met Max, and on a trip to North Carolina to visit family (they both live on the West Coast), he had proposed to her at the pier.

So it was only fitting we headed back to Wrightsville Beach to get their engagement photos done. Neither love the spotlight, and I was very, very pregnant, so we kept this session short & sweet, and it was all that we needed.

I love Lindsay’s smile that lights up her whole face, and the way he looks at her.

And then of course we had to get some pier photos in, because if you didn’t take pier photos, were you actually even at the beach?

Sometimes I love shy couples the most. They turn to each other for comfort and when things get awkward for them and it’s just the cutest.

And as always, some of my favorite photos were the ones at the end.

If you’re nervous about getting your photos done, relax. Relax and think about why you’re nervous. Remember that you’re with the one person you love the most. Think about what makes you happy in that person. Think about their best qualities. Think about your favorite moments with them. Think about what makes you laugh. And if you’re really stuck? Forget the camera exists and look to your loved one. Completely ignore me, and focus on your partner. Look at their face. Play with their hair. LOVE ON THEM. And then, every once in awhile, you can peek at me and we will create some GORGEOUS images.
